AmaTuks are delighted to receive news that Lesego Van Wyk, a young cancer patient at George Mukhari Hospital in Garankuwa is responding to treatment and recovering well.
Lesego is a 6 year old boy who was diagnosed with renal and retinal tumours and has Retinoblastoma. He is blind due to the tumours in his eyes, bed ridden with machines strapped to his body, and fed through a feeding tube.
On the 3rd of March, AmaTuks together with Reach for a Dream and Pick n’ Pay Sohanguve surprised the young man with a football themed party for his birthday.
Nompumelelo Mlambo, a Dream coordinator for Reach for a Dream in Tshwane informed the club that “Lesego is doing better; the physiotherapist is training him to feed himself so that he can be removed from the feeding tubes. He will also undergo physiotherapy training to learn how to sit again and is responding well to treatment.” She said.
AmaTuks wish the little fighter speedy recovery and that his dream of coming to watch the team play at the Tuks Stadium be fulfilled.
