Following an emphatic win against Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, the university Of Pretoria make the trip to Mafikeng to take on the unbeaten North West University on the 8th of September, kick-off is at 16:45.

The two giants meet for the second time in this year’s edition of the Varsity Football tournament having played out to a 2-2 draw last month in Pretoria. This match will also be a replay of last year’s semi-final where UP-TUKS emerged victorious in Pretoria.

UP-TUKS head into this encounter wary of the threat posed by NWU as they haven’t been beaten in this campaign and their vibrant fans will look to make the visitors uncomfortable.

The two teams have locked horns three times, NWU have never beaten UP-TUKS whilst UP-TUKS boast two wins with the other match ending in a stalemate. UP-TUKS will take comfort in the fact that they managed to beat NWU last year in their home ground.

North West University will be hoping to beat UP-TUKS to register their first final in the tournament whilst the Pretoria based side will look to defend their title.
