AmaTuks have been in Durban for a week and after losing 1-2 to bottom of the log AmaZulu on Tuesday night at the Princess Magogo Stadium, they will face a resurgent Maritzburg United in an Absa Premiership fixture on Friday 05 December 2014 at the Harry Gwala Stadium. Kick-off is at 20h00.
AmaTuks, who are still adjusting to the change on coaching personnel lie 14th on the log with 13 points from 13 games. On the road, AmaTuks have notched up three draws, two wins and two losses; and eight of the twelve goals they have scored have been on the road.
AmaTuks will be hoping that their frontman Geoffrey Massa continues in his rich goalscoring form to help them get points from the encounter. Massa came on as a second half substitute to score two goals in a 3-2 win against Moroka Swallows and also scored AmaTuks' solitary goal against AmaZulu. He now lies fourth on the PSL goalscoring chart with five goals
Maritzburg United on the other hand have had one of their best starts to a season. Five wins, five draws and three losses see "The people's team" lie 4th on the league log with 20 points from 13 games. Their last assignement was away to Orlando Pirates in an Absa Premiership match which they won 2-1. At home Maritzburg United are a very dissicult team to play against, having managed three wins, two draws and suffered their first loss in their last home encounter against Moroka Swallows. Nine of their seventeen goals were scored in home fixtures.
The previous two encounters between the two sides at the Harry Gwala Stadium both ended in draws, 1-1 in the 2012/2013 season and goalless in the 2013/2014 season.
