UP-TUKS are set to host fierce rivals TUT at the Tuks stadium for a semi-final clash in the 2015 Varsity Football tournament. The match will kick-off at 15:30.

The encounter has been deemed the final before the final by many football pundits and sparks will fly at the Tuks stadium as there is more to this match than just a spot in the final. UP-TUKS have the experience as they have been in the semi-finals on two occasions 2 whilst TUT have been there once.

The two teams played out to a 0-0 draw at TUT in the opening fixture of the tournament but the prospect of playing in the final and potentially winning the tournament will motivate the players and the fans can expect fireworks from this encounter.

Potential player of the tournament Jeremiah Nkwana will look to add to his goal tally from dead balls as he has proved to be a specialist in that area whilst TUT will hope that flamboyant midfielder Itumeleng Mogotsi will be at his very best on Thursday.

UP-TUKS captain Robyn Swartz feels the team is ready for the massive encounter,” We had a full week to prepare for this match and we are motivated and ready to do battle against TUT. As an individual I’m motivated now than never before because this is my last Varsity Football tournament because I will be overage next year so I really want to win it this year to show my appreciation to Tuks Football as a whole for what they have done for. This match will be different from the first one because it’s a semi-final and nobody will be holding back, hopefully our fans will rally behind us and cheer us to victory on Thursday.”
