BARKER - THE JOB IS NOT DONE YET

After going three matches without a win, AmaTuks have now registered three successive wins with the recent one being a 1-0 victory over Orlando Pirates.

Placed 11th on the log table with 26 points from 21 matches, AmaTuks travel to the Mother City this weekend to take on Ajax Cape Town. Coach Steve Barker says the team needs to work harder to move from the bottom half of the table.

“The job is not done yet, fortunately we are closer to that 32/33 point mark which makes us a little safer with 9 matches left, we now about 7 points away from it. Twenty six points for us is just one step closer to where we need to get as quickly as possible.” He said.

Coach Barker is confident that the players will continue with the great performance they showed against Pirates when they face the Urban Warriors on Sunday.

“After the 3 defeats we sat down with the players and had a chat, we said there are 3 results you can get in football and we need to eliminate one of them and that is a loss. We are in a difficult situation and we need to be little more mentally stronger and play the type of play that will get us results. We need to continue with the winning mentality”.

The remaining fixtures for this season are: Bidvest Wits (H), Sundowns (A), Polokwane City (H), Swallows (H), Free State Stars (A), AmaZulu (A), Chiefs (H), MP Aces (A).
