The University of Pretoria Football Club's reserve team will travel to the Makhulong stadium for their first match against Orlando Pirates in the 2nd edition of the Multi-choice Diski challenge, kick-off is at 15:30.

The new look team will be headed by Evangelos Vellios who has been promoted from the Varsity Football team and the academy, he will be assisted by Amatuks legend Brian Sebapole who was also involved in the academy.

The amendment of the rules have forced the defending champions to reshuffle their squad and this year the squad will be comprised of the academy players, the student team players and the senior team players.

Orlando Pirates will be motivated to seek vengeance after AmaTuks beat them 5-2 in last season’s knockout round. On paper the odds are firmly stacked against AmaTuks but the MDC has proven to be unpredictable as form is thrown out the window when two teams meet on the pitch.

Evangelos Vellios is relishing to be on the touchline and feels his team are fairly ready,” I am grateful for the opportunity that has been granted to me in light of the recent coaching course I just did. We are ready for tomorrow and we will give it our best against a team that will be motivated to beat us so it will be hard but we will give it everything” he stated.

Mpho Maruping will retain the captaincy of the team after he successfuly led the team to glory last season despite missing the final through injury.
