AmaTuks played out to a 1-1 draw against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim of the German Bundesliga in a training match at the Tuks stadium on the 11th of January.

The teams sized each other up in the early minutes with AmaTuks dominating possession. The first attempt at goal came from the German outfit through a shot that was saved comfortably by Washington Arubi in the 5th minute. Denver Mukamba combined well with Atusaye Nyondo and had his curling shot saved in the 8th minute.

The crossbar denied Hoffenheim the opening goal in the 31st minute. Denver Mukamba latched on to a long pass from Partson Jaure and found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper who put him off as his lobbed effort went over in the 37th minute.

The second half started off in a faster pace than the first half as the players had acclimatized to the hot weather conditions. Hoffenheim attacked with great impetus largely due to the changes they made coming into the second half. Hoffenheim took the lead in the 63rd minute through as the striker connected with a cross to tap in from close range.

Mpho Maruping showed great composure in the final third as he got past two defenders and slotted a pass through to Nyondo who was on hand to comfortably finish and level the scoring at 1-1. Atusaye Nyondo had a great chance to get his brace as he found himself one-on-one with the keeper but dragged his curling shot wide in the 80th minute.

A great cross from Sifiso Nzimande found  Lucky Mathosi who headed well but his effort came off the upright to go wide in the 87th minute. The match ended on 1-1 as neither of the teams were able to get the winner.
