Captain's Corner - AmaTuks vs Supersport

Welcome all to our third fixture of the season.

Looking back at our previous encounters against Maritzburg united and Golden Arrows, we started on positive note collecting 4 points in two matches which is not a bad start to the season.

 Although we would have loved to have collected all maximum points on offer, we were unfortunate not to defeat Maritzburg in our own backyard and losing out to make our supporters and the entire institution happy.  We were very inspired by the number of supporters we had on the day.

We travelled down to Durban to face Golden Arrows at Sugar Ray stadium in Clermont, where everyone was expecting us to lose, but rather surprised the entire football fraternity by working hard in what I can call a team effort to secure three points in difficult conditions.

The team generally played well on the day with Thokozani Sekhotlong putting in a decent cross for Mpho Maruping heading home our 2nd goal of the season in the PSL, which brought us 3 points. Again our young stars came to the party in this particular match, which proves to the football people that as a club we have one of the best youth development structures.

Coming to the match against our rival’s Supersport United;

We do respect what they have done for all these years which is winning the PSL title 3 times. But we are ready and up for the challenge, we do know each other very well as neighbors. They assembled one of the best squad in the league and have one of the best coaches as well. Our own technical team is equal to the task as well, which gives us an edge over the opposition. The preparations have been going well since returning from Durban and every player is looking forward to the match. We are coming as the underdogs, and this takes a bit of pressure away from us.

This afternoon is the battle of Tshwane championship as not only 3 points are at stake but the pride of the entire city. We going all out to win the match as our approach to every game we play in the league. All matches are tough in this league as you all saw when Supersport defeated Orlando Pirates in the MTN 8 semifinal. Every team has an equal opportunity to win 3 points, which we believe we are going to use this afternoon.

In conclusion; on behalf of the club I would love to take this opportunity to thank our technical and my personal sponsor Umbro, for the role they are playing in the club ever since from the national first division. You are highly appreciated.

Not forgetting our supporters who are our pillar of strength, please attend in numbers we value you.  Thanks also to our management and administrators your doing a great job behind the scenes.

Thank you all and looking forwards to seeing you at our next fixture.
