The University Of Pretoria Football Club reserve team progressed to the semi-finals of the Multi-Choice Diski Challenge after they edged out Orlando Pirates 5-2 at the king Zwelithini stadium on the 31st of January 2015.
Orlando Pirates took the lead as early as the 2nd minute through Letsie Koapeng after starting off better than AmaTuks. AmaTuks got the equaliser on the half-hour mark through Khethukuthula Zwane to send the teams into halftime deadlocked at 1-1.
AmaTuks started off better than pirates in the second half as Botshelo Mfulwane handed AmaTuks the lead in the 47th minute. Mpho Maruping extended AmaTuks lead to 3-1 five minutes later as he took advantage of some below par marking by Pirates to head home at the back post.
The rout continued as Denver Mukamba made it 4-1 through a low shot from 20 yards out. Thabo Rakhale kept his sides hopes alive as he scored in the 81st minute to make it 4-2.
Denver Mukamba had the last say as he rounded off the scoring in stoppage time through a penalty to send AmaTuks through to the semi-finals.
AmaTuks coach Sly Mosala felt his side deserved more goals,"There were penalties that were not awarded; we should have won by more than eight goals," he said after the match.
