AmaTuks have strengthened their strike force with the promotion of striker Botshelo Mfulwane from the student team.
Affectionately known as "Long", the 1.89m tall striker started his playing career at a Ga-Rankuwa based outfit called Peace Brothers where he played up to the level of the district promotion league. He then joined the Tuks promo team in 2010 and was immediately promoted to the club's SAB league team (Spartak). In 2012 he was invited for pre-season training with the senior team but after not making the final cut he left to study sport science at the Tshwane University of Technology Pretoria Campus (TUT Pretoria). He scored four goals for TUT in the 2013 varsity football tournament, two of which were against Tuks in the opening match of the competition.
Long then returned to Tuks in 2014 to continue with his sport science studies and also play for the Tuks student team in the USSA Gauteng Football League ("UGFL - AmaTuesdayz"). At the same time he also played for Soshanguve Sunshine Stars in the Gauteng Vodacom League where he scored 11 goals for them before again joining the Tuks first team for the 2014/15 pre-season training.
Long is the student team's current top goal scorer, scoring four of the eight goals that the team has scored thus far in the UGFL.
"I am very happy to finally be given an opportunity in the first team and I hope to repay the coaches' belief in my abilities."
"He has been scoring goals wherever he has gone and has shown tremendous potential in the USSA league and the varsity cup. We look forward to him adding value and banging in the goals for the first team," said coach Barker.
