AmaTuks were knocked out of the Telkom knockout cup by Mamelodi Sundowns, on Tuesday evening 23 October 2012 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Anthony Laffor scored the only goal of the game to put Sundowns through to the last eight round of the cup.
Coach Steve Barker says it was a learning curve for the team as this was the first meeting with Sundowns, and the team’s first cup appearance in the elite league.
“It was our first meeting with them, our first cup match. We had a game plan, to make sure we did not concede in the opening minutes of the match. When we went into the break with the score level, we thought we would come at them in the second half. Unfortunately we conceded a goal and it looked like they were in control” Said Steve.
AmaTuks’ next league match will be away to Bloemfontein Celtic, on Sunday 28 October 2012 at the Free State Stadium. Kick-off is at 15:30.
