Atusaye Nyondo scored a goal and asisted Denver Mukamba in a 2 - 1 win over Chippa United. The win boosted AmaTuks to 8th place on the Absa Premiership table climbing above Chippa United.
The match started off tense in the first 20 minutes, as there were no clear-cut chances with the two teams happy to exchange possession. AmaTuks drew first blood when Thabo Mosadi cut in from the left and took a shot that was punched back into action by Mbongeni Mzimela leaving Atusaye Nyondo to tap the ball into an empty net in the 34th minute.
AmaTuks protected their lead into halftime but the visitors responded early in the second half through a fine header at the back post by substitute Eric Chipeta to level the score in the 51st minute.
AmaTuks took the lead again four minutes later through a well worked attack that saw Denver Mukamba slot the ball past Mzimela to make it 2-1. Sammy Troughton introduced Mpho Matsi in the 55th minute as he looked to protect the 2-1 lead.
The AmaTuks fans got a chance to see their most notable signing Bennet Chenene as he was introduced in the later stages of the match. The home side protected their lead and completed the double against the Chilli Boys this season.
Sammy Troughton felt it was a struggle to get the win but was delighted with the result. “It was a hard fought victory but I’m happy with the three points as they will do us a lot good on the log considering the small difference of points”.
